McColl’s turns contactless

McColl's

McColl’s has completed the roll-out of contactless payment across its entire 1,366-store estate.

The roll-out, which began in August 2016, was carried out at a rate of 100 stores per week.

Dave Thomas, chief operating officer of McColl’s, said: “We are always looking to make the shopping experience more convenient for our customers at McColl’s. In an increasingly digital retail environment, we wanted to offer our customers the option of contactless payment, and we are delighted by the response, with a third of all credit card transactions already coming via this method in our stores.

“We developed the initiative to meet a clear customer demand for contactless and it will help us to capture more customer spend as we continue our expansion in the convenience sector.”
